Moonee Valley Vase History

First run in 1983 under the name The Herald Vase as a Listed Race, the Moonee Valley Vase was upgraded to Group 3 status in 1989 before achieving Group 2 level in 1997. Originally the race was run over 1600m before the distance was increased to 2040m in 1986.
